My husband Richard and I (Sussie) have been involved
with Labradors since the 1960's & 1970's but it was in 1987 that The
Richbourne Kennel was founded.
We live in the country north west of London and are lucky enough to
have plenty of space for lots of lovely Labradors (and children,
cows, horses, cats and chickens)! Fortunately our children Bonnie
and Mark are also very keen on helping with the dogs.
Welcome (click on the picture to see where we live)

Being very keen on Labrador
history we are most aware that we are only guardians of our lovely
breed for a very short time and our aim has always been to try and
maintain true Labrador type with much emphasis put on sound
temperament and a willing to please attitude.
We have bred both UK and International Champions.
Both Richard and I are privileged to judge Labradors at Championship
show level and have been fortunate enough to officiate all over
Europe, North and South America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
The highlight of Richard's judging career was undoubtedly when he
had the great honour of judging Labrador males at Crufts in 2004 and
his CC winner went on to win the Gundog group.
I am currently the secretary of The Yellow Labrador Club and The
Labrador Breed Council which I see as a great honour and an
opportunity to give a little back to the breed which has given us so
much pleasure.
